January 27, 2020 - The Mariposa County Arts Council is pleased to announce they are now accepting submissions for their annual Young Masters Youth Exhibition opening this March at the Treetop Gallery.

Young Masters is an annual juried exhibition that provides youth in Mariposa an opportunity to express their ideas, narratives, and inspirations with their community through their own pieces of original visual artwork and offers gallery guests the chance to view the world from our children’s perspective. This year’s theme is Good Neighbors.  Students are encouraged to dig deep and be thoughtful when creating work under this theme. Work in the following media will be accepted: photography, drawings, paintings, prints, mixed media, 3-dimensional work (wood, metal, cloth, jewelry, papier-mâché, and sculpture), and multimedia/digital work.

Youth living in Mariposa County between grades K-12 are encouraged to submit one piece of work to the Mariposa County Arts Council before the submission deadline on Friday, February 28, 2020.

A public reception for the exhibition will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2020 between 4:30 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. at the Treetop Gallery (5009 Hwy 140, Mariposa CA). This year, Young Masters will be a part of an art exhibition under the same Good Neighbors theme, including local artists Ralph and Ann Mendershausen, Jackie Baxton, and Trowzers Akimbo. The reception for both artists and students will be shared.

For more information or a submission packet, please stop by the Mariposa Arts Council (5009 Hwy 140, Mariposa - upstairs from Chocolate Soup Gift Shop) or visit MariposaArtsCouncil.org. Please contact phillips@mariposaartscouncil.org or call the Mariposa Arts Council at (209) 966-3155 with any questions.
