MPC horizontalflowerFebruary 8, 2020 - Spring is right around the corner and flowers are starting to bloom. This is the perfect time to get a few tips on flower photography and see some great examples.

The next meeting of the Mariposa Photo Club is inviting the public to attend and enjoy the free program presented by local photographer Suzette Prue. It will be on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at 6:30 P.M. in the conference room at the Mariposa County Human Services Building on 5362 Lemee Lane, off Hwy 49N.

“With just a few simple tools, and a basic camera setting or two, you can do some great flower photography,” says Prue. She has won a number of awards for her flower photos and considers the subject to be among her favorite.

“In the spring I can easily spend several hours a day looking at flowers as a photographer and I find it very relaxing,” adds Prue.

Besides the flower presentation there will be a teaching moment giving people a chance to learn a new function on their camera and everyone is encouraged to bring their camera along and ask questions. After the presentation there will also be a friendly critique of photographs submitted by members. If you have questions about cameras or photography this is the place to be.

This meeting is open to the public and memberships to the club are available for $15 a year. One of the benefits of membership is getting a discount rate for mounting boards for the fair photography entries.
