February 15, 2020 - Science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) are all topics covered by the wide variety of programs at the Mariposa Library through its Green STEAM Makerspace and other exciting programs for all ages. And they’re all free!

Mariposa Library Rebecca Robot 400Coming up are:

  • eBay for Beginners on Thursday, February 20 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 P.M. Learn the basics of selling on eBay with local crafter Nancy Francis.
  • Kitchen Chemistry for Kids on Thursday, February 20 from 3:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M., for children aged 6 and old. Have fun experimenting with supplies you can find at home.
  • Robotics with Rebecca, Saturday, February 22, 10:00 A.M. for children aged 9 and older. Make a bot to take home.
  • Genealogy Group, Saturday, February 22, 2:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M. Network with others who are researching their family histories.
  • Acrylic Pour Painting for Kids of all ages, Thursday, February 27, 3:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. an adult technique that’s easy enough a child can do it with beautiful results.
  • Beginning Acrylic Pour Painting for Adults, Saturday, February 29, 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 noon for ages 16 and older who have not taken a previous class.
  • Free Play Art Day for all ages, Thursday, March 5, 3:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M., We provide the materials, you provide your imagination. Come and create!
  • Instant Pot Cooking, Saturday, March 7, 10:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. Learn to make fabulous dishes with an Instant Pot by making a meal you prepare yourself.
  • Free Play Textile Day for all ages, Thursday, March 12, 3:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M., try weaving, sewing, crocheting. All materials provided.
  • Advanced Acrylic Pour Painting for Adults, Saturday, March 14, 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 noon, for adults aged 16 and older who have taken a class previously. Learn new techniques.

Also available through the Library are computer classes and individual tutoring, Adult Literacy tutoring including ESL, GED and citizenship, monthly family movies and weekly story time.

Children aged nine and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Most programs require pre-registration.
