Speakers Sandy Torosian and Laura Reagan will explain what the Standards are, what they believe is wrong with them, and what we can do to stop Common Core in California. They will also inform us about the new Advanced Placement U.S. History course that was rolled out this August to over 500,000 of our best and brightest high school students.
Sandra has two sons that attended Clovis schools and graduated from Clovis West High School. She has been employed by Clovis Unified for 25 years, with the last 15 working as an instructional aide in special education. Her experience with Common Core comes from months of research and the daily instruction of the math curriculum.
Laura Reagan has taught high school students in Texas and New Mexico, and has just returned home to California. Her experience with Common Core curriculum comes from professional training, her own research, and information gained through Advocates for Excellence in Education.
