March 14, 2020 - The National Weather Service Hanford Office reports a Wind Advisory is now in the effect for much of the San Joaquin Valley, as well as the Sierra Nevada foothills in Mariposa, Madera, and Fresno Counties for this afternoon into early Sunday morning.

In addition, the Wind Advisory for the West Side Hills will remain in effect until 8:00 A.M Sunday.

Expect gusty south to southeast winds in these areas.

Strong cross winds may impair driving ability, especially for high profile vehicles such as campers and tractor trailers.

...A WIND ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM 3 PM PDT THIS AFTERNOON UNTIL
4 AM PDT SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Sustained southeast to south winds 15 to 25 mph, with
  gusts near 40 mph expected.

* WHERE...Most of the San Joaquin Valley and the Southern Sierra
  Nevada foothills of Mariposa, Madera, and Fresno Counties.

* WHEN...From 3 PM PDT this afternoon until 4 AM PDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree
  limbs may be blown down. Travel will be difficult, particularly
  for high profile vehicles.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Highways affected include, but are not
  limited to Highway 180, Highway 43, Highway 41, Highway 99 north
  of Kingsburg, and Highway 198 west of Visalia.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high
profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
