Update (6:46 P.M.): Mariposa CHP announces Hwy 140 roadway is OPEN.

Per Yosemite Gateway Partners - Highway 140 has reopened between Midpines and El Portal. Watch for debris on all roads in the region. Tire chains are still required if entering Yosemite via Hwys 41 or 120 (from the west). Call (209) 372-0200 (then 1, 1) for current road information inside the park.

Update: Caltrans report closure begins at 12:30 P.M.

Mariposa County Sheriff's Office reports this is a Hard Closure. No traffic will be allowed in.

March 15, 2020 - Mariposa CHP reports due to weather conditions on Highway 140, in Mariposa County, the highway from the Bug Hostel (Bear Creek) to El road closedPortal, will be closing today at Noon.

If conditions permit the roadway will reopen at 10:00 PM.

Only emergency and Caltrans vehicles will be allowed into the closed area.
