March 15, 2020 - By Judy Stafford, NMCHC President - COVID-19 is dramatically impacting regions around the world and throughout our country.  At the time this notice is being written, we are just a few days into a “National Emergency” and the virus has yet been known to have hit Mariposa County.  We hope it remains this way. 

The vast majority of the Northern Mariposa County History’s Center’s cadre of volunteers are in the “most vulnerable” category of people over age 60 but thrive on giving of themselves to their community.  To protect the health and well-being of this wonderful dedicated group, the NMCHC Board of Directors has opted to close the museum through at least the end of April and has canceled or postponed all April activities including the “second Sunday” Breakfast at the Schoolhouse, the Heritage Rose Tour, the Annual meeting, and any and all board and committee meetings. 

We encourage everyone in our community to exercise precautions during this time as so many residents in the North County fit into the “most vulnerable” category.  Be the Barrier, Not the Carrier.
