February 9, 2015 - During the Tuesday, February 3, 2015 Mariposa County Board of Supervisors meeting Mariposa County District 2 Supervisor Merlin Jones said the water level in Lake McClure is continuing to drop. He said Mariposa County Tuolumne County and the Lake Don Pedro Community Services District are working together to solve the problem about a potential loss of usable water from the lake. About 3,200 people in the Lake Don Pedro Community Services District get their water from Lake McClure.

merlin-jonesMr. Jones said this is something the people needed to plan ahead on, that the Lake Don Pedro Community Services District Board kept putting this matter off until later. Putting this off until later has now caused a huge problem for them and he advised the board at their meetings to take care of the problem of lack of water.

Mr. Jones said now when he gets the phone calls for help his "sympathy is not overwhelming."
