Dear Mariposa County School Community,
As we prepare for our spring break, I wanted to provide a brief update on what to expect upon our return. You will be receiving a letter in the mail next week,
which will also be posted to our social media page. This letter will provide guidance regarding our distance learning framework.Upon return, we will be entering our 6th week of social distancing, and all of us are working to navigate this new school community together. We acknowledge that we are relying heavily upon technology to provide an education, and yet we understand not everyone has the same access or capacity to this technology in our County. Teachers and parents have been working through these challenges together to support our students where inequities exist.
As we continue under social distancing guidelines, our school community will take steps towards supporting our students, parents, and teachers. Your principals and teachers will continue to collaborate, and upon our return, will be prepared to support and assist you in providing distance learning. Additionally, alternative distance learning assignments for students who cannot rely solely on technology, will be outlined and available.
Our intention is to provide healthy and flexible learning opportunities, while ensuring teachers and students do not spend all day in front of a computer screen. We continue to encourage all forms of safe communication between students, parents, teachers and principals, while we continue to adapt to this new form of education.
I want to thank our entire school community for the contributions made over the last several weeks. We are truly fortunate to be part of such a supportive County.
