February 17, 2015- The Mariposa County Board of Supervisors announced today that Anthony (Tony) Stobbe will be Mariposa County’s next Director of Public Works. Mr. Stobbe will begin leading this all-important department on March 2, 2015.

tony-stobbeA large portion of Mr. Stobbe’s experience was formed while serving on active duty with the United States Coast Guard, where he enjoyed a highly decorated career with rapid promotions, outstanding evaluations, and many awards. He brings over two decades of engineering leadership, administration and financial management experience coupled with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois, and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of California – Berkeley Haas School of Business. He is also a licensed Professional Civil Engineer in the State of Ohio.

Mr. Stobbe’s work history includes directing all of the public works functions for the largest air station in the Coast Guard, the Coast Guard Base Kodiak, in Kodiak, Alaska as well as serving as Commanding Officer on two Coast Guard Cutters. He was also hand selected from over 400 officers to advise the Vice Admiral leading the Coast Guard Pacific Area from 2011 to 2013.
