“What happened to George Floyd was tragic and wrong, period.
This inexcusable incident has angered the policing profession everywhere. It goes against everything that the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office and each of your Deputy Sheriff’s stand for, believe in and what they put on the line day after day to provide a safe environment for all to enjoy.
On behalf of the dedicated employees of the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office, I want to express my thoughts and feelings of sorrow for the loss of life and violence that began in Minneapolis and has now erupted across our nation.
I want to assure you that the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office is empowered to protect, serve and enrich our community. We strive to do just that, with integrity and honor.
The Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team has been requested by Bay Area law enforcement to assist in the San Francisco area today. We know that our team will uphold our Mission, Value and Vision statement to their highest ability during this assignment, as they do every single day for our family, friends, community and visitors of Mariposa County.”
