June 26, 2020 - Mariposa, California - John C. Fremont announces Vida Vreca-Ponnequin as the new family nurse practitioner for the Greeley Hill clinic starting August 1, 2020. Vida joined John C. Fremont Healthcare District on February 1, 2019 caring for patients in the Mariposa clinic. Vreca-Ponnequin will provide full comprehensive medical care with a focus on adults, women’s health, children and geriatrics.

Vida Vreca-Ponnequin comes to Fremont Family Physicians from Dignity Health Medical Group in Merced and the University of the Pacific Health Center on both the Stockton and Sacramento campuses. She is a graduate of Sonoma State University's Family Nurse Practitioner program in 2015 and is an ANCC (American Nurses Credentialing Center) Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner.
Prior to that she was a Registered Nurse for 10 years at Queen of the Valley Hospital, UC Davis Medical Center, and Sutter Amador Hospital. Vreca-Ponnequin obtained her 2-year Nursing degree from Pacific Union College in 2005 and proceeded to attain her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing with a Psychology minor from Sacramento State University in 2008.

Vreca-Ponnequin was born in Eureka, California. Vreca-Ponnequin is a first-generation American-born Serbian with both parents emigrating from Yugoslavia in the 1950s. She speaks fluent Serbo-Croatian and introductory Sign Language (ASL).
Vreca-Ponnequin lives with her husband, Craig, in Mariposa County and has varied interests including ham radio, horseback riding, student pilot, animal rescue and her animal menagerie that includes llamas, alpacas, sheep, cows, horses, goat, ducks, chickens, dogs and cats.
She enjoys serving Mariposa County and being a part of its medical community.
