July 3, 2020 - Mariposa County COVID-19 Daily Status Report Update for Friday Morning, July 3, 2020 - 28th Positive Case identified in Mariposa County. First case of community transmission within the county.
28th positive case identified in Mariposa County.
Identified 7/2/2020
37 year old male.
The investigation of determined this represents the first case of community transmission within Mariposa County.
At this time we feel the community transmission is limited and likely occurred at Lake McClure where he helped another boater.
All contacts have been identified and quarantined.
The individual's awareness of his symptoms prompted immediate testing, which helped to limit the number of contacts and the spread of disease.
Case #19 Update
Identified 6/22/2020
79 year old female.
She was discharged from hospital earlier this week after improving.
Yesterday, she developed worsening symptoms was evaluated at JCF and readmitted to a hospital outside of Mariposa County.
Please remember to stay vigilant in slowing the spread of COVID-19.
We can all do this by avoiding large gatherings, wearing a cloth face covering, and practicing good hand hygiene.
Avoid those who are sick, continue to socially distance, and avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
In addition, recognize symptoms early, stay home if you are sick, and cover your coughs and sneezes.

SYMPTOMS AND TESTING:
Who should Test: Fever, cough, shortness of breath.
Emergency warning signs include: Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, persistent pain or pressure in the chest, confusion or inability to arouse, bluish lips or face. If you develop emergency warning signs for COVID-19 get medical attention immediately. * This list is not all inclusive. Please consult your medical provider for any other symptoms that are severe or concerning. Please call ahead so that appropriate precautions can be taken.
Older patients and individuals who have severe underlying medical conditions or those with immunocompromised: contact your healthcare provider early, even if your illness is mild
COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS:
Wash your hands regularly with soap and water for 20 seconds.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Stay away from work, school or other people if you become sick with respiratory symptoms such as fever and cough.
Cover sneezes or coughs with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
