July 6, 2020 - The modern-day troubadour Nathan Ignacio will perform via live stream for Music on the Screen on Friday, July 17 at 7:00 P.M. from the Mariposa Arts Council Facebook page.
Nathan is a true one-man band. He is a talented multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter who plays popular cover songs as well as his own material. He says his music is “A folky-bluesy twist on a 100-year-old tradition that I’ve made my own. It’s danceable and different . . . I love making people dance and when it’s a song I created or helped shape, it’s a rewarding feeling beyond words.” Nathan has traveled extensively sharing his sound, gracing the Strawberry Music Festival mainstage and countless stages and festivals throughout California and beyond.
Nathan is no stranger to the virtual live stream concert either. Going into a now 5-month in-person concert hiatus, he has perfected a crisp sound system and garnered plenty of experience playing full concerts from his home porch as well as the occasional backyard social-distance gig for neighbors and friends.
People viewing will be able to tip Nathan directly (and generously!) from a link in the stream. Artists and arts organizations, especially performing artists, have been hit particularly hard by the long closure. The Arts Council hopes Music on the Screen concerts offer the community an opportunity to both support the working musicians who have enriched Mariposa’s music scene for years, and to enjoy a live music experience from the comfort of their own home.
Next on the lineup will be The Jespersons on Saturday, August 15 at 7:00 P.M. streaming from the Mariposa Arts Council Facebook page. All previous concerts can be found through the Arts Council’s website: www.mariposaartscouncil.org/music-on-the-green.
