March 9, 2015 - Graduates of Mariposa High School attending Merced College may be eligible for $1,000 scholarship awards through the Merced College Foundation.
To apply for the Mathilde K. Stroming Trust scholarships, in association with the Bernard Osher Foundation, recipients must also be eligible for the Board of Governors Fee Waiver (BOG) and must have earned 24 degree applicable units.
Mathilde, better known as “Tillie,” was born on April 6, 1919 and passed away on August 12, 2009. She was a long-time resident of Mariposa and owner of Stroming Machinery, Inc. in Mariposa. Her estate also provided for gifts to the Mariposa Mining & Mineral Exhibit Construction Fund, the Mariposa Historical Society, Mariposa County Library, St. Joseph’s Church, and other organizations.
