March 9, 2015 - Mariposa County Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested a local man suspected in a string of property thefts. On Thursday, March 5, 2015 deputies arrested Ryan Osteen,35, of Mariposa, for possession of stolen property at his residence, located in the 7000 block of Hites Cove Road, Jerseydale.

Deputies and Detectives served a search warrant at the same residence and recovered several property items believed to have been stolen from Mariposa residents.

Over 20 items were taken into evidence, some of the property consisted of: a Honda Quad, a Husqvarna Weed eater and Chainsaw, a Log Splitter, a DK Mower, a Craftsman Mower, Road Signs, various ID's and Social Security Cards, and Marijuana.

At the time the search warrant was served, Alicia Osteen, 35,  of Mariposa was arrested for suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance. Her three children found in the home, and a 4thchild not in the home, at the time the warrant was served were turned over to Child Protective Services.

Currently the recovered property has been tied to eight local victims.

Ryan Osteen was booked for the charge of Possession of Stolen property facing bail of $25,000.00.

Mariposa County Sheriff Doug Binnewies said the investigation is ongoing.
