September 24, 2020 - Adapting to the times, the MCHS Academic Boosters Club held its first Career Lunch of the school year on Thursday, September 24, using a different format. On a first come, first served basis, ten students were invited to sign up to come to campus to listen to marketing communications expert Natalie Zensius. She spoke at the lower outdoor tables. (All filled in a Health Screening Survey before entering campus and wore face masks when not eating.) An additional ten students were invited to attend via a Zoom call.
Thanks to the generosity of an Anonymous Donor, the students who attended on campus enjoyed lunch from 1850 while those on the call will be able to pick up a gift card from 1850 from the Counseling Office when it is convenient for them to do so.
Ms. Zensius spoke with students about her training as an illustrator, how this led to her becoming a special effects artist and producer in the motion picture industry, and how this grew into a career in marketing communications consulting. Students had a number of great questions that Ms. Zensius was happy to answer.
ABC is once again holding Career Lunches monthly throughout the school year. Details for future lunches will be announced on ABC's Facebook and Instagram pages and in Mariposa County High School's the weekly electronic newsletters.
