Here comes the Grizzly Band

Mariposa’s Grammy winning MCHS Grizzly Band continues to honor our nations military and veterans as they did in New York City in 2011 and San Diego in 2012. There participation in those Veteran Day parades brought great honor to Mariposa Grizzly Band and the community of Mariposa.

The Grizzly Band will participate in tours of many historic sites, museums and join in a military wreath-laying ceremony during the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery. The Grizzlies will have one more performance in a concert setting as well as a clinic with a Military Band.

The National Memorial Day Parade takes place in our nation's capital on Historic Constitution Avenue from 7th to 17th Street before a street audience of several hundred thousand spectators. It consists of musical ensembles from each branch of the military, invited bands from every state in America, veterans groups, military and specialty units, floats, and VIP's.

The parade will be broadcast on the Discovery's Military Channel, and worldwide to American troops on the Pentagon Channel.

The Mariposa County High School Grizzly Band is honored to once again represent the community of Mariposa, the State of California and honor American Veterans and those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

The Mariposa County High School Grizzly Band is organizing many fund raiser events to pay for this educational trip to our Nation’s Capital. The MCHS Band Boosters is a non-profit tax exempt 501(C) and is accepting donations of any size.
