September 25, 2020 - The U.S. Forest Service reports smoke and air quality outlook for the San Joaquin-Yosemite areas, due to the Creek Fire.
Fire: Active fire behavior continues on the Creek Fire due to warm and dry conditions. Increased intensity in fire behavior is expected again this afternoon and evening. For the latest Creek Fire fire information and details, go to: https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/videos/7147/
Smoke: Heavy smoke continues to lie in valleys and basins on the west and east sides of the fire. This will keep those communities in the Unhealthy to Hazardous air quality range. Afternoon westerly winds should again provide improvement for the west side of the fire as smoke lifts out and drifts easterly. The Yosemite Park region saw improving air quality last night and is expected to see overall Moderate impacts today and tomorrow with a chance for periods of heavier smoke midday.
Notes: Sensitive populations more susceptible to smoke impacts include children, the elderly, people with heart or lung problems, and people with respiratory illnesses.
