October 27, 2020 - The U.S. Forest Service reports smoke and air quality outlook for the San Joaquin-Yosemite areas, due to the Creek Fire.

Fire: Mono Winds pushed the fire back onto itself, allowing pockets of unburnt fuel to be consumed. These winds will continue throughout the day. Very active to extreme fire behavior is possible.  Fire information can be found at: inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/7147/

Smoke: Yesterday, the eastern portion of the forecast area saw much needed relief from smoke and this will continue throughout the next two days. Mammoth Lakes, Bishop, and Lee Vining will see Good to Moderate conditions. Foothills locations on the west side of the fire will see Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups conditions, including Mariposa, Wawona, Ponderosa Basin, Oakhurst, and Millerton. Areas directly southwest of the fire perimeter will see Moderate to Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups conditions as a more terrain-driven wind pattern prevails by mid-to-late day on Tuesday. The remainder of the week will see diurnal upslope-down-valley winds developing and the potential for smoke accumulation.
