October 29, 2020 - The U.S. Forest Service reports smoke and air quality outlook for the San Joaquin-Yosemite areas, due to the Creek Fire.

Fire: The northeastern edge of the fire perimeter remains the most active. Heavy fuel loading and extremely low relative humidity will lead to active fire behavior. Significant smoke production is expected. Fire information can be found at: inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/7147/

Smoke: Areas southwest of the fire will see most significant smoke impacts, including North Fork, Prather, and nearby communities. Locations in the immediately vicinity of the fire perimeter, such as Huntington Lake and Shaver Lake, will experience heavy smoke today and tomorrow. Along the western foothills, Moderate to Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups conditions are expected, with highest smoke concentrations midday. Mammoth Lakes and Bishop will see another clean day today; however, a slight wind shift overnight into tomorrow will allow concentrations to build on the east side of the fire by the end of the day tomorrow. As the terrain-driven upslope-down-valley wind pattern prevails, nightly inversions will allow smoke to accumulate throughout the weekend.
