November 9, 2020 - If you would like to see a real landscape master at work, plan to Zoom in to the next meeting of the Mariposa Photo Club on Wednesday, November 11 at 6:30 P.M. This meeting is open to the public.

Franka Mlikota Gabler will share some of her magic with the Mariposa Photo Club for their monthly presentation. A native of Croatia, she moved to the region in the late 1990s and fell in love with the landscapes after a backpacking trip in the Sierra Nevada. Now she never leaves the house without her camera and tripod.

“In order to resonate with the viewer a successful photograph needs to tell a story. Also, in order to connect with a viewer, a photograph needs to create emotional impact. It is not enough to just correctly expose and compose,” explained Gabler.

The presentation analyzes several essential components that contribute in depicting mood and creating emotional impact, such as choice of light, color, contrast, weather, and/or shutter speed exposure.

The Mariposa Photo Club welcomes anyone who loves photography, from beginners to experts. Post-Covid the meetings will be held in person. Memberships are available which entitle people to extra benefits. You can check out the club at their website, MariposaPhotoClub.com and Facebook page.
