November 10, 2020 - MADERA, CA - On Thursday, November 12th from 2 pm to 4 pm at the Oakhurst Urgent Care facility and Friday, November 13th, 2020 from 2 pm to 4 pm at the Madera A Street facility, Camarena Health will be having a Thanksgiving Canned Food Drive and we are inviting the community to join us and donate canned food or other non-perishable food items. The food drive items will be donated to Manna House from the Oakhurst location and Madera County Food Bank from the Madera location.
Both events will be a drive through and social distancing will be taking place. In addition to the Camarena Health Food Drive, for each donation, face coverings will be given away for the families in adult and child sizes. For these festive, community events, the Madera County Public Health, Social Services, WIC, First 5 as well as Helping Hands & Pregnancy Center (Oakhurst only), Madera County Supervisor Tom Wheeler (Oakhurst only), Madera Coalition and Central Valley Opportunity Center (Madera only) will be joining the event as well with brochures and give-a-ways!
In addition, the Central California Blood Center will also be having a blood drive at each location by appointment as well as walk up available. This will also be socially distanced and the blood drive is an essential and open.
