March 23, 2015 - SACRAMENTO – Today, Assemblyman Frank Bigelow (R-O’Neals) and Senator Tom Berryhill (R-Twain Harte), issued the following statements in response to AB 142 advancing out of the Assembly Natural Resources Committee on an 8 to 1 vote:

“As we continue to experience this devastating drought, I’m thankful to the Natural Resources Committee members for their support of a bill that will ensure that we don’t further deplete our scarce water resources. Passage of AB 142 will allow us to make educated water usage decisions for our foothill communities and all water users,” Assemblyman Bigelow said.

“Any changes to river designations, especially when we are in the midst of an epic drought, have to be done with our eyes wide open. AB 142 will give stakeholders the facts – and that is a positive for the people relying on that water for consumption as well as recreation.  I am glad to see this legislation move forward,” Senator Berryhill said.
