December 29, 2020 - MONO COUNTY - Following the latest series of winter storms, Caltrans has closed State Route 120 East/Mono Mills Road for the winter season. The closure went into effect at 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 29. All major seasonal closures in Mono and Inyo counties are now in effect. This includes:
- State Route 120 West
- State Route 108/Sonora Pass
- State Route 89/Monitor Pass
- State Route 168 West at Aspendell
- State Route 158 North/North June Lake Loop
- State Route 203 just west of the Mammoth Mountain Ski Area
- State Route 270/Bodie Road
In addition to these closures, Caltrans may temporarily close other roads in the region throughout the winter, depending on weather and road conditions. Drivers are reminded to always carry traction control devices, such as snow chains, when traveling during the winter weather months.
