January 19, 2021 - The Madera County Sheriff’s Office Mountain night shift was kept busy overnight with numerous fires and wind related calls. Corporal Tashiro is seen here (pictured) assisting CALFIRE fight the blaze of the Manzanita Fire at the old North Fork Mill.
There are currently many hazards throughout our mountain area due to the ongoing wind event. There are trees and debris across many roadways. If you must travel, use extreme caution while driving along roadways, or when you’re near dead or dying trees and powerlines.
Please stay away from any powerlines you encounter and report to PG&E or the Sheriff’s Office at (559) 675-7770.
