This funding is part of the American Rescue Plan that Senator Padilla voted to pass in the Senate and President Biden signed into law on March 11, 2021.

“Recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic must address inequities facing Native Americans,” Senator Padilla said. “I was proud to vote for the comprehensive American Rescue Plan because it reaches California’s most disadvantaged communities, including tribal communities who have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic. With nearly $31 million in grants to over 100 California tribes, this funding will provide much needed relief and help address the affordable housing crisis in Indian Country.”
