May 17, 2021 - The MCHS Academic Boosters Club extends its thanks to Yosemite Bank for its recent $500 donation. ABC will use these funds to help offset the costs related to the upcoming Valedictorian Dinner it is hosting.
MCHS awards valedictorian status to multiple students each school year. To qualify, students must take the most rigorous courses offered at MCHS. Their course load must include four years of math, four years of science with three being lab sciences, three years of the same foreign language, Advanced Placement (AP) English Literature and AP English Language, and all Honors and AP classes available to the student. Valedictorian students must earn a “B” or higher in all classes.
Following all Health Department guidelines, ABC is pleased to be able to host an outside celebratory dinner for MCHS's twelve valedictorians at River Rock Inn on Thursday, May 27, 2021. The valedictorians, their mentors, and guests will have the opportunity to listen to a guest speaker as well as to inspiring words from each other while enjoying a delicious dinner and each other's company. Valedictorians will also take-home gift cards and other items to commemorate their impressive achievement.Pictured, Yosemite Bank Vice President Matthew Foraker stands with MCHS student Madia Westerlund who is holding the much-appreciated donation check.
