The Master Gardeners of Mariposa County will hold their annual Plant and Garden Art Sale on Saturday, May 2nd, at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds Amigo picnic area from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Special features include bonsai-style trees and shrubs planted by Jeff Nicholas, who will be present at the sale to discuss the plants and their care. Also included will be a large assortment of clay pots. There will a large selection of vegetables, fruits, herbs, native and drought-tolerant plants, annuals and perennials, succulents, grasses, trees and shrubs, water plants and house plants.
The garden art table will have: painted shovels, garden rocks and macramé’ hanging planters for sale. A Master Gardener will be available in the information booth to answer home gardening questions and a tool sharpening demonstration by Jay Higbee will also take place.
The Master Gardeners request that customers bring a box to transport purchased plants.
The Master Gardeners are volunteer educators for the home gardener. They are trained through the University of California as part of the Cooperative Extension services.
