June 18, 2021 - On June 17th, President Biden signed into law the Juneteenth Independence Day Act making June 19th a Federally recognized holiday. This new law takes effect immediately. Recognizing the value and importance of Federal Holidays, Tuolumne County Offices are routinely closed during those times. As a result of this new Federally recognized holiday, Tuolumne County Offices will be closed to the public on June 18th, 2021. However, public safety offices will follow their normal schedule during this holiday.
Additionally, with the excessive heat warning issued for this this week, Tuolumne County previously committed to extending the hours of operation of the Tuolumne County main Library until 6:00 pm and making the Behavioral Health Enrichment Center available from 8:00am until 7:00pm. Tuolumne County will maintain that commitment and make those spaces available to the public seeking to find relief from the heat.
