June 30, 2021 - Clovis, CA. - Front Desks on the Sierra National Forest are in the process of reopening, including the Bass Lake Ranger District and High Sierra Ranger District Offices. While the front desks are re-opening, the main and staff offices remain closed to the public, while re-opening plans are being completed, getting approved and then implemented. The front desk at the Bass Lake Ranger District Office hours are now Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m, closed on Federal Holidays. Staff is providing in-person fuelwood permits, map and book sales and general forest information. The High Sierra Ranger District front desk hours are Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Staff is providing in-person fuelwood permits, map and book sales and general forest information.
The Forest Supervisors Office in Clovis, CA., remains closed and will open in the very near future. As has been the case over the past year, virtual support will still remain available during normal business hours, Monday-Friday. Wilderness users must still apply for wilderness permits online, complete information about wilderness permits is available on the forest website at https://go.usa.gov/x6fbm or reserve your permit through Recreation.gov - https://www.recreation.gov/permits/445858.
If you have not yet been vaccinated, we ask that visitors wear a face covering (covering the nose and mouth) and maintain at least 6’ physical distance while inside Forest Service buildings and facilities. Thank you for your understanding.
