An excessive heat warning is in effect through Monday, with high temperatures in Yosemite Valley forecast to be around 110°F.

July 9, 2021 - It's going to be a hot one this weekend! Mariposa County Health and Human Services Agency works closely with the National Weather Service to monitor forecasted weather and evaluate the need for opening cooling centers in Mariposa County.

In order for a cooling center to open, temperatures must be forecasted to be at 105 or more degrees for three or more hours and for three consecutive days. Current forecasts show Cathey's Valley and Mariposa hitting these metrics, which is why we have opened cooling centers in these locations. If the need for additional cooling centers arises, our team is prepared to support them.
