August 2, 2021 - The Madera County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) reports last Friday shortly after 9:30 P.M., MCSO Corporal Roth and Deputy Pursell were in the area of Highway 41 and Highway 49 in Oakhurst conducting routine patrol when they observed a Dodge Charger traveling Southbound on Highway 41 with no license plates.

After initiating a traffic stop, both the driver and passenger were found to be in possession of a large quanity of illegal narcotics. The narcotics included Meth, Heroin and prescription pills. Deputies also discovered almost $2,000 in cash.

The driver Arthur Block III, and passenger Brittany Carrick, both of Oakhurst, were arrested and booked on multiple felony charges including Possession of Methamphetamine for Sale, Transportation of Methaphetamine, Possession of Heroin for Sale, and Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia.

Sheriff Tyson Pogue states, “I applaud the efforts of Deputy Pursell and Corporal Roth. By being proactive and vigilant, a routine traffic stop resulted in the successful removal of serious drugs off of the streets of our community. I thank them for a job well done.”
