August 6, 2021 - Merced – On July 19, 2021, Merced Police Officers responded to the 3000 block of Loughborough Drive in Merced for a shooting. Officers located an 18-year-old male who was suffering from a gunshot wound. The male was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The victim was identified as Dominick Hernandez of Atwater.

Detectives responded to the scene and began investigating. Detectives have been able to identify two suspects in this case. The first suspect identified was 20-year-old Marcellus Tremayne Harris of Merced. Detectives have been following up on leads which led to the identity of a second suspect, 19-year-old Troy Melton of Merced. Harris and Melton are both wanted in connection with this homicide. Detectives are asking for assistance from the public with locating Harris and Melton. Detectives are continuing to follow up on leads to identify any additional suspects that may have been involved in this homicide.
