August 12, 2021 - Merced Police officers arrest Jose Ceja (35) for attempted homicide.

At 5:55 A.M., officers responded to the 1900 block of Carol Ave for a stabbing that occurred during a family argument. When officers arrived, they located a 26-year-old male that was stabbed several times. The suspect, Ceja, fled the scene before officers arrived. He was apprehended 20 minutes later near Golden Valley High School.

The victim was flown to an area trauma center for medical treatment. Ceja was arrested for attempted homicide.
