Valley Consortium for Medical Education will receive $1,180,431 for first class medical training services
August 18, 2021 - WASHINGTON — On Tuesday, Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) announced that Valley Consortium for Medical Education will receive $1,180,431 in new federal funds to continue their work training medical professionals in the Central Valley. Valley Consortium is a non-profit based out of Modesto that delivers first class training for residents and medical students throughout the Central Valley. They represent over 800 acute care hospital beds, more than 150,000 emergency room visits, 24,000 major surgical cases and over 50,000 admissions annually.
“Every doctor we can train in the Valley and keep practicing medicine in our community means thousands of more affordable and accessible visits for our families a year,” said Rep. Harder. “Our Valley families have to wait way too long for health appointments, and this is a great step forward. I won’t stop fighting until everyone in the Valley has the same access to high-quality and accessible health care as the millionaires in the Bay.”
