September 10, 2021 - Merced – On September 10th at approximately 2:15 A.M., Officers responded to 1500 block of E 21st Street for a report of an assault with a hammer. Officers located the victim, who 
stated he was hit in the head with a hammer. Officers provided medical aid to the male victim. The suspect was identified as Brian Arredondo (51), who was arrested immediately. Arredondo swung the hammer at the victim’s head three times. The victim sustained minor injuries. The hammer was located near Arredondo’s door. Arredondo was booked for attempted homicide.
