September 13, 2021 - Merced – Merced Police Officers responded to the 300 block of E. 13th Street in the City of Merced for an assault. While in route, officers were advised the victim had been shot at and the 
suspect retreated into 115 E. 13th Street. When officers arrived on scene, they made phone contact with the resident of 115 E. 13th Street.
The resident and suspect were identified as Don Cameron, 59, He was detained without incident. A consent search of the property was conducted, and a .22 caliber handgun and ammunition were located. Further search revealed an expended shell casing atop the garbage can. Cameron was arrested and booked.
