September 27, 2021 - Merced – On September 25th at approximately 7:30 P.M., Merced Police Department officers arrested four suspects for the possession of concealed firearms.
Merced Police Officer Zazueta initiated a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation. The driver of the vehicle failed to yield for a few minutes before stopping to let one of the passengers out of the vehicle. The passenger fled on foot and was apprehended with the assistance of the public. The passenger was identified as Kevin Luna (26) and was found to have a loaded firearm in his waistband. Once the vehicle yielded the driver, Alberto Lopez (26), and remaining passengers, Martin Aguilera (27) and Adrian Vargas (20), were also arrested as another firearm was in the vehicle. The occupants were booked into jail on firearm violations and gang enhancements.
