September 30, 2021 - There are currently more than 10,400 firefighters on the frontlines of 11 major wildfires burning across the state. Yesterday, CAL FIRE also responded to 20 new initial attack Cal Firewildfires, all of which were quickly contained. Since the beginning of the year, there have been 7,758 wildfires that have burned more than 2.4 million acres in California.

A Red Flag Warning is in effect for the North Bay Mountains, mainly in Napa County and along the Sonoma border, until 11 am today due to gusty winds and low humidity. Dry through early next week, chances of precipitation increase some midweek, but confidence low on amounts and coverage. Warming trend continues with above normal temperatures area-wide this weekend through Monday. Local north to east winds of 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 35 mph will surface across the mountains and below the canyons and passes of Southern California into this afternoon. Temperatures will be 5 to 10 degrees above normal through Monday, with 70’s to low 80’s across the mountains and upper 80’s and 90’s in the valleys.
