October 1, 2021 - SONORA, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation has scheduled recreation area closures at New Melones Lake from Oct. 1, 2021, through Jan. 2, 2022. These closures allow Reclamation to perform necessary maintenance tasks and allow for natural resource recovery. All other Reclamation-operated locations at New Melones remain open year-round, with the exceptions and hours listed below:

  • Tuttletown Recreation Area closures: Manzanita and Chamise Campgrounds, and Oak Knoll Group Camp.
  • Glory Hole Recreation Area closures: Big Oak Campground, Osprey Point Day Use Area, and Angels Creek Boat Launch.
  • Entrance gates to Tuttletown and Glory Hole recreation areas are open daily from 4 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • The Visitor Center Museum and the Administration Office remain closed due to COVID-19.

The New Melones Lake Visitor Center is open for pass sales on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please observe COVID-19 safety procedures (wearing a mask, one person inside at a time, and maintaining physical distancing).
