MPC Cuban children

October 10, 2021 - Amazing images of Cuba will be shared with the community on Wednesday, October 13 at 6:30 P.M. via Zoom.

John Cahalin, who was trained at the Art Institute, and studied under Clyde Butcher, a famed landscape photographer in the Florida Everglades will share images of the people of Cuba.

During his time in photography, Cahalin did several travel studies, but the one to Cuba was his very first. “This was my first human story,” says Cahalin. He spent three weeks traveling the country and meeting the people.

“I love 4x5 photography and also spent many years photographing the Everglades in Black and White,” add Cahalin. A very diversified photographer, Cahalin was involved in starting a large commercial studio, called Studio FX, specializing in retail and advertising photography. “My first big client was Mars Candy.”

This presentation is open to the public and is free. It is being sponsored by the Mariposa Photo Club and until a later time they meet via Zoom. The link to the meeting is https://zoom.us...

The Mariposa Photo Club was started by a local group of people interested in photography. It is open to beginners through professionals. The club meets monthly with a guest speaker and an opportunity to share photography. Photographers may ask for critiques of their photos during the photo share portion of the meeting.

For more information, check out their website, www.MariposaPhotoClub.com. Memberships are available for $15 a year and offers access to their closed Facebook group where there are weekly challenges and other information.
