Mariposa County High School Advanced Placement (AP) students recently received $75 each (totaling $2,850) for testing fees from the Mariposa Academic Boosters Club (ABC), presented by (pictured from left to right) ABC Co-Chairperson Carol Hart and Treasurer Deborah Rockwood to MCHS Counselors Candis Mason and Lori Ritter.
Each AP exam costs students and their families $89 and many students are enrolled in more than one AP course per year. A successful test can result in college credit and savings, but the price to take these exams is cost-prohibitive for many families. ABC hopes to expand this assistance program each year through their fundraising efforts, giving Mariposa families direct financial assistance and the best chances for success after graduation.
