November 12, 2021 - Mariposa County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform various operations on State Routes 49 and 140 next week in Mariposa County. Work is scheduled to be performed as follows:
Route 49
- One-way traffic control from the Madera/Mariposa County Line to Varain Road for striping operations beginning Sunday, November 14, through Friday, November 19, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
- One-way traffic control from the Madera/Mariposa County Line to Varain Road for highway construction beginning Monday, November 15, through Friday, November 19, 2021, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- One-way traffic control from French Camp Road to Whitlock Road for utility work from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 17, 2021.
- Crews will perform crack seal operations from Bear Valley Road to Route 120 beginning Monday, November 15, through Friday, November 19, 2021, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Route 140
- Intermittent lane closures from 3rd Street to Coakley Circle in Mariposa for curb, gutter and sidewalk work beginning Sunday, November 14, through Friday, November 19, 2021, from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., as part of the Mariposa Pedestrian Safety project.
- One-way traffic control from the passing lane (right) to Hummingbird Lane for tree work beginning Tuesday, November 16, through Thursday, November 18, 2021, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Motorists should expect 5- to 10-minute delays and take alternate routes whenever possible.
This work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment, and/or materials and construction related issues.
