November 17, 2021 - Homicide detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office have arrested 44-year-old Ricardo Gutierrez Munguia of Easton. FCSO Easton HomicideHe turned himself in Wednesday morning. Detectives had been working to find Gutierrez since last Friday. He has been booked into the Fresno County Jail on a murder charge.

Around 7:00 P.M. on November 12th, sheriff’s dispatchers received a report of there being a gunshot victim on the 5700 block of S. Geneva Ave. in Easton. Deputies arrived and found an injured man. They administered CPR, however, the man did not survive his injuries. He has been identified as 24-year-old Alexis Lopez Gutierrez of Sanger.

Detectives and members of the Crime Scene Unit arrived at the scene. Through their investigation, detectives determined Ricardo Gutierrez Munguia fired shots and then fled the area in his car. Although the victim and suspect share a name of Gutierrez, they are not related to each other. However, they did know each other.
