TCSO crime spree

November 24, 2021 – Yesterday morning on Tuesday, November 23, our office received several calls reporting an erratic driver in a white Jaguar sedan in the Jamestown area. Witnesses said the driver was not only driving erratically but was also spotted prying open mailboxes. Deputies and the Sonora area CHP were eventually able to locate the car and driver after a homeowner reported the vehicle had crashed into a lawn ornament of a residence on Railbed Road in Jamestown.

When deputies arrived, they contacted 31-year-old Sathaphone Manivongphaphonhsay of Ceres. CHP investigated Manivongphaphonhsay’s driving and determined he was under the influence while driving. Deputies additionally investigated Manivongphaphonhsay’s actions and determined he attempted to break into the home where he crashed. Deputies conducted a search of Manivongphaphonhsay’s vehicle. They located presumed stolen mail and a collapsible baton. Manivongphaphonhsay was transported and booked into the county jail without incident.

While at the county jail, Manivongphaphonhsay was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine, heroin, and prescription pills without a prescription. In addition to being booked for DUI, Manivongphaphonhsay was booked for burglary, attempted burglary, mail theft, possession of a dangerous weapon, and possession of controlled substances.
