Three major initiatives will lower the cost of goods, bring down the price of gas, and deliver new good paying jobs

December 1, 2021 - WASHINGTON - On Tuesday, Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) laid out his three-part plan to lower costs and deliver jobs for Central Valley families. His plan is focused on one central mission: making it affordable to raise a family in the Valley again. With Christmas around the corner, Rep. Harder will focus on:

  • Lowering the costs of goods and making sure shelves are fully stocked by passing his bipartisan Supply Chain Taskforce Act and the Ocean Shipping Reform Act of 2021;
  • Bringing down the price of gas by pushing Sacramento Democrats to pause and repeal the California gas tax costing families more than 50 cents per gallon;
  • Delivering good paying jobs to the Valley by bringing new infrastructure projects home including repairing roads and building new water storage.

“When I was growing up in the Valley it was affordable for just about anyone to live here and raise their family. And that wasn’t that long ago. But now, between filling up their gas tanks and buying Christmas gifts for their families, the folks in our community are getting squeezed from every direction and frankly, I’m tired of it,” said Rep. Harder. “That’s why I have a plan to do three things: lower the cost of goods, bring the price of gas down, and deliver good paying jobs to our community. That’s how we’ll make our community affordable again.”
