December 5, 2021 – Merced - On 12/04/21 at approximately 2:00 A.M. (0200 hours) Officers responded to the reports of a fight in progress in the 400 block of W. Main St. An assault occurred after a confrontation took place due to one of the responsible urinating in public. The responsible, Pedro Montoya (26) and Priscilla Barboza (25) left a victim with significant facial injuries. The responsible left the scene and were stopped by officers due to the vehicle matching the description of the suspects’ vehicle.

The suspects were positively identified, and the victim’s phone was in the suspect’s vehicle. Montoya and Barboza were booked into Merced County Jail.
