December 8, 2021 - The National Weather Service Hanford Office reports a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for the Sierra Nevada from 7:00 P.M. this evening until 4:00 P.M. Thursday afternoon.

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow may cause travel difficulties.

The majority of this snow will fall late tonight and Thursday morning.

If you plan to travel, consider alternate strategies. If you must travel, remember to carry tire chains, plenty of food, a good deal of water, and warm clothing in your vehicle.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS
EVENING TO 4 PM PST THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snowfall of 6 to 12 inches above
  5,000 feet, with isolated amounts up to 15 inches. Wind gusts
  as high as 50 mph on exposed ridgetops and along the crest.

* WHERE...The Sierra Nevada.

* WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to 4 PM PST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous
  conditions could impact the morning commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Weather conditions will be dangerous for
  hikers and campers, especially along the Pacific Crest Trail.
