This is an important phase of the construction project to enhance safety for motorists and pedestrians and improve mobility / accessibility by installing high visibility crosswalks, crosswalk lighting, in-road warning lights, and curb ramps, in accordance with the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA).
When: Construction is scheduled to resume in January following the holidays and will continue until spring 2022.
Where: Route 140 at Route 49, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 11th, and 12th Street intersections.
Details: Construction will take place mostly at night, however, 72-hour, single-lane closures will be required periodically to allow the stamped crosswalk concrete to cure.
Specific dates for start of construction and the 72-hour, single-lane closures will be announced prior to construction.
Traffic Impact: One-way traffic control will be used, and motorists can expect delays of 30 minutes or longer.
Businesses along Route 140 can remain open while crews construct the crosswalks.
